Amanda was born and raised in the Mission Valley of Montana. She has been a nurse for 5 years in which she has practiced in long term care, acute care, emergency department, and school nursing. She has a true passion in sharing the many benefits of the nursing profession. This likely stems from growing up thinking she would never be interested in nursing no matter how many times someone encouraged her to pursue nursing. It wasn’t until she met her now husband, and all of his siblings who are all nurses. They had encouraged her to pursue a position in healthcare where she worked alongside nurses in the emergency room. It was then she realized how great and versatile the nursing profession is. Amanda recently became the skills lab manager at Salish Kootenai college where she gets to share that passion of nursing with so many more people.
Amanda has been married since 2012 and now has three boys, a dog, and has moved to Choteau, MT and back to the beautiful Mission Valley. Interests mostly revolve around what she can do with her family. Being from the beautiful state of Montana of course she likes to fish, camp, hike, swim, and kayak. She also loves to play different sports including volleyball and softball. She also enjoys a backyard game of football, baseball, or basketball with the boys. When the weather is a little colder in Montana she finds enjoyment in reading and playing card games.
