Salish Kootenai College Accreditation Agency
The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) first accredited Salish Kootenai College in 1984 as a two-year institution of higher education. This accreditation was reaffirmed in 1989, 1993, 2003, and 2013. In 1998, the Commission accredited the College at the bachelor degree level.

Salish Kootenai College Direct Admit Generic Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program Option is approved by Montana State Board of Nursing . Both BSN Nursing Program options are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
The BSN Nursing Program at Salish Kootenai College located in Pablo, MT is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. The most recent accreditation decision made by the ACEN Board of Commissioners for the BSN nursing program is Continuing Accreditation through October of 2027.

Salish Kootenai College graduates of the 4-year pre licensure BSN are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Exam (RN-NCLEX) in Montana. The graduate must submit a background check and a personal history to the Montana State Board of Nursing. These requirements, in conjunction with passing the RN-NCLEX, are needed for licensure as a Registered Nurse in Montana.
Montana is one of 34 states who belong, via state legislative ruling, to the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). "The NLC increases access to care while maintaining public protection at the state level. Under the NLC, nurses can practice in other NLC states, without having to obtain additional licenses." Information about the NLC can be found at:
