Margaret earned her Master’s of Science in Nursing Education from Western Governors University and her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Washington. She has also earned her certification as a Certified Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse.

Her 16 years of experience as a nurse have included ten years as a neonatal intensive care nurse (NICU), working in NICUs in Washington and four years as the Clinical Nurse Educator of the NICU and Pediatric units at Evergreen Health. Upon returning to Montana she was the school nurse for two years caring for over 1500 elementary through high school students. Currently she is teaching Pathophysiology, Health Assessment, Maternal/Child, Pediatrics, and Palliative Care at SKC.

She has always had a passion for teaching. She has been a preceptor for new nurses in the hospital and also built and implemented a 13-week NICU residency training program for new nurses. Her goal is to support her students to the best of her ability and provide them with the tools they need to be successful nurses.

Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, hiking, paddle boarding, reading, and gardening.
